Contributing positively to our communities is very important to Xindia that it’s one of the guiding principles We work together on a daily basis with partners (employees), suppliers and local communities to help create a more sustainable approach to our Pellet and Steel production, and hence help build stronger local communities, to minimize our environmental footprint and to be responsive to our customers’ health and wellness needs. It is recognized that local needs and priorities differ. For that reason, most ideas for new programmes will continue to be generated locally - either by the local business units or communities. Some may evolve through contact with NGOs or other foundations. The Foundation's role will be to define the core strategy for XIndia's social engagement activities, lay down criteria for the business units to follow, monitor spending and evaluate the impact of each project. As a first step, all current activities are being identified and assessed.
