In the second phase apart from expansion of the pelletization plant to a capacity of 6 Million Tons per annum, a steel plant to manufacture value added steel products will be set up. The capacity of the steel plant would be 2.5 Million Tons per annum. This would be in synch to capture a share of the growing demand of steel which is growing from the current levels of 45 Million tons per annum to a projected demand of 200 Million tons per annum by 2020.
We would leverage on the advantage of our partners Xinxing being the lowest cost operators of blast furnace, sinter plant and rolling mills. Added to the the fact that our other partner Minmetals is the worlds’ largest trader for steel raw materials and finished metals which will give us further advantage. |
